When we tested at first, we thought they were not working properly. After collecting this we kept trying to troubleshoot and finally found the settings that worked for us and now they work like a champ.
We have to say model Midland GXT795VP4 and Midland GXT1000VP4 work much better with the motorcycle helmets on b/c the helmet put the mic right in front of your mouth.
You never owned two-way radio before a lot of learning to do.
Midland 2-way Radio Review
1. Midland GXT795VP4 Handheld Radio
Midland GXT795VP4 Handheld Radio, Think my 2-way radio is the best handheld radio in the world but I have to admit, I still don’t know what some of the features on my Midland GXT795VP4 actually do.
There are things like the 42 channels which I understand pretty well; many different wavelengths for me to try and talk to people through. But then there are things like the 142 privacy codes which I just don’t get. It’s done a lot of good for me and the construction is something like flawless. I’ve actually dropped my radio from about two stories up onto concrete and it still worked, just what I would expect out of the best handheld radio out there.
That is a lot more than I can say for some of the radios I’ve owned in the past. Because I work at great heights regularly, things I drop or items that fall tend to get destroyed. Many of my old radios shared a similar fate.
The superior craftsmanship is a big positive for me but it’s not the only reason I think my Midland GXT795VP4 is the best handheld radio around. Oh no; it has a lot more going for it than that. For example, it can operate and transmit audio from you without a single hand working the machine.
I thought it was really cool when I realized I could use both my hands to operate my tools while still keeping up with things on the ground through my Midland radio.
There was no single radio option, however; I had to buy two or get no radio at all. Still, how bad is it to have two of the best handheld radio? I gave the other one to a friend of mine and we can actually talk to each other from all the way across town. It makes playing Modern Warfare just a bit more fun, truth be told.
If you still don’t think the Midland GXT795VP4 is the best handheld radio, consider you don’t even need a hand to hear incoming transmissions. An included headset feeds the audio right into your ear and that means you can hear crystal clear sound without giving your position away to anyone around you. You never know when something like this is going to come in handy, or when a natural disaster might hit and you could actually, really use a radio. You are much better off getting the supplies you could need later while you don’t actually need them.

2. Midland GXT1000VP4 Handheld Radio May Not Be the Most Expensive
If you’re in the market for a handheld radio, you can trust which also doesn’t cost an arm and a leg; you’re in luck. The best handheld radio around right now might be the Midland GXT1000VP4. It’s an amazing machine that does more than most radios because it’s new, with all the features of today. With all those great traits, this 2-way radio also has an amazing 36-mile range. That means you could talk to someone on the other side of a city, or several cities away, without any cellular signal needed. What you need is the best handheld radio.
Keeping a pair of powerful 2-way radios around means you have communication with the outside world in case of a power outage. This could happen from something like a single electrical pole falling over or be the result of a horrible natural disaster like what hit New Orleans about 8 years ago.
In the event of any disaster where you lose power, having the best handheld radio in your hands will allow you to reach out for help on a total of 50 different channels. If there’s anyone out there to hear your call, someone will be among those choices; believe that.
In addition to the wide range of the Midland GXT1000VP4 and the hefty number of different channels on which it can operate, this nifty radio also has access to all the hazard and weather channels you can think of, a very helpful tool for getting severe weather alerts before you find yourself in a storm.
In the event of other emergencies, a good radio like this could be your only way of getting important updates and evacuation locations. It is not fun to think about at all, but if something like this happens, you will want the best handheld radio.
Since the purchase, I have been happy with my Midland GXT1000VP4 two way radio. I’ve actually had occasion to use it, and the thing didn’t fail me when I really needed it. Maybe that makes my review a little biased, but I don’t think it’s unfair to tell you the product worked.
It worked so well I think it’s only fair to tell everyone I think this is the best handheld radio I’ve ever owned and on top of that, I think it would be one of your favorites too if you gave it a try. There are certainly far worse radios.
